Tal y como se indica en The Inquirer, parece ser que Sun está decidido a hacer finalmente Java un producto Open Source y liberar sus fuentes. Lo que puede tener un notable efecto en la producción actual de juegos en plataformas móviles (especialmente teléfonos) que utilizan este lenguaje y su máquina virtual.
